Peacefully nestled in the Colorado Rockies, 7000 feet up at the base of Mount Sopris is Old Snowmass. Big Sky country! Clean air, clean water, casual, all day sunshine and the beautiful mountains are what attracted me to this area 23 years ago.
After many careers and no human children, I chose to open my heart and home to dogs, my love and passion.

After a long search for the world's best breed, I chose
Coton de Tulear
and found my little girl Colby in Canada.
I fell madly in love with her charm, goofy personality, adaptability, flexibility, beauty, intelligence and enthusiasm.

She was such a joy, I hunted worldwide to find her brother and mate. In Quebec Canada I found our mutual Prince Charming, Cotonnerie Rocky Mountain High. He is a lover with a huge white coat. He looks like a white teddy bear, mellow and at times ornery in a silly way. He has captured his Mama's heart and soul.
Aspen-Astree des Flocons de Juillet, came all the way from Chartres France. Ma petite fille Francais is a lively, funny, graceful little girl who has grown into a lovely young lady!
She has been a complete joy from the day she entered our home.
Sierra is the daughter of Rocky and Colby, I decided she needed to stay here. She's a blessed gift from God and a great joy to us all. She's a water lover who jumps right into the lakes and streams. Did Cotons have a water dog ancestor?
She's a playful, confident, funny, goofball. A perfect combination of her parents.
Since then we've added Butter Boo who fathered sweet Cheyenne. Butter Boo is now retired but is still my little guy.
Sierra has produced 2 fabulous boys Tanner and Harvey, and I'm thrilled with their development.
Molly was born black and has faded to a salt & pepper, champagne and white color. She's just beautiful. We're hoping for her first litter in 2010.
You can see them all on "my Cotons" page and then go to "
My other Cotons".

My commitment is to provide a healthy and happy home.
My main goal to my breeding program is to produce healthy Cotons with fun personalities, loving souls with wonderful coats, who will grow into social, even tempered, cute and fun adults.
Also wishing to maintain the integrity of the historical characteristics of the
Coton de Tulear, Royal Dog of Madagascar.
All in hopes my puppies will
bring love, joy and happiness to their forever homes.
|
|
|
|
To achieve these goals I carefully plan my breeding stock, believing in the Code of Ethics . I am a member of the American Coton de Tulear Club(ACC), and the Rocky Mountain Coton Club. All the Cotons have passed their eye CERFs, full thyroid, hips, patellas, liver/kidney function and have had full blood panels.
Always look for an ACC COE breeder and never, never buy from a pet store, broker or puppymill. Say No to AKC!

Please sign our petition to help save the
Coton de Tulear from puppy mills. Puppy Mills (which the AKC supports by registering puppy mill puppies) supply puppies to Petland and other pet stores, online brokers and back yard breeders. These people are in it for profit only and our breed will suffer from indiscriminate breeding. Please follow this link and add your name to the thousands of people against the Coton de Tulear from being recognized by the AKC.

To fight AKC recognition of the Coton de Tulear a group has been formed. If you would hate to see the Coton in the hands of more and more puppy mills please join our fight.

The Breeder
I love my little puppy; she makes my house a home. She is my sweetest little friend; I never feel alone.
She makes me smile; She makes me laugh;
She fills my heart with love.
Did some person breed her, or did she just fall from above?
I've never been a breeder, never seen life through their eyes;
I hold my little puppy and just sit and criticize.
I've never known their anguish;
I've never felt their pain, the caring of their charges, through snow or wind or rain.
I've never waited the whole night through for babies to be born.
The stress and trepidation when they're still not there by morn.
The weight of responsibility for this body in my hands, This darling little baby, who weighs but 60 grams.
Should you do that instead of this . . . or maybe that was wrong?
Alone you fight and hope, one day, he'll grow up proud and strong.
You pray he'll live to bring great joy to someone else's home.
You know it's all just up to you; you'll fight this fight alone.
Formula, bottles, heating pads, you've got to get this right, two-hour feedings for this tiny guy, throughout the day and night.
Within your heart you dread that you will surely lose this fight,
To save this little baby, but God willing . . . you just MIGHT.
Day one; he's in there fighting; you say a silent prayer.
Day two & three, he's doing well, with lots of love and care.
Day four & five . . . he's still alive; your hopes soar to the heavens.
Day six he slips away again, dies in your hands, day seven.
You take this little angel, and bury him alone.
With aching heart and burning tears, and an exhausted groan,
You ask yourself, "Why do this? . . . Why suffer through this pain?"
Yet watch the JOY your puppies bring, and everything's explained.
So, when you think of breeders and label them with "Greed,"
Think of all that they endure to fill another's need.
For when you buy your puppy, with your precious dollars part, You only pay with money . . . while they pay with all their heart.
